Motion detected lawn sprinkler. Check it out.

That would be a thought, but then I would be considered being a pest. The upside of the new landscaping on the course is that they laid new sod over a large are including the three feet between the new paved cart path and our back yard. They just opened the new path yesterday and I noticed for the first time that they had made a provision for the carts to stop in an area a couple of doors up the hill from us.  This way they are only driving by and not stopping directly behind us anymore. I'm liking the nice sod compared to the weeds they had before covering a couple of yards between our property and the cart path.

What about planting a row of trees in your back yard along the ol’ property line? It would take a few years but they’d make a nice buffer.

I agree except for one problem. I may not live long enough for the trees to fill in and the Golf Course doesn't allow any one to plant trees that will block anyone's view of the course. What we are thinking of doing is sprinkle some wild flower seeds and or plant a fast growing hedge. The hedge I can keep cut to a leavel that will not block any views but would define the separation. On another note. They spent a lot of money having sod laid down over a large area on Friday and Saturday. One of the grounds guys was out watering the sod as he should. The last couple of days have had winds in the low 20 mph with 30 mph gusts, or as they call it in Kansas, a gentle breeze. This has dried out the sod in many areas and between the new concrete path and our property line. Should they wait any longer to water these new sections we will not have to worry about grass, just weeds.

The people running the golf course can tell you what you can do on property that belongs to you?  That's a new one on me...

Well, the development company that owns and operates the course also owns the development division that is selling the lots to the builders. As such they have far more control over what a homeowner can do with landscaping than you would normally find. I'm still having issues with the builder as to the sod they put in our yard. While I'm getting used to the downsizing there just wasn't a lot of options in the realest market last year. Our old house sold in 48 hrs. after it went on the MLS and we had to move fast to find a new place and pack. Should we have had a little more time and the other new homes in our area had been closer to completion we might have landed somewhere else. But it is what it is and we just have to deal with it.

Another Irk just now.? I got a phone call from someone posing to be with Amazon. I have an order in transit so I was interested in what it was about. He asked me if I ordered a smart phone. I said NO! Then he said “Let me help you cancel this order because if you don’t you will be in big trouble.” I knew then for certain he was attempting a scam!? I said NO, NO, THANKS and hung up. It is sad that these fraudsters prey on gullible or paranoid or slightly mixed up people.?

Here's a trick I learned quick on how to deal with these robo telemarketer calls - especially if you have caller ID. Answer it but.... DO NOT utter a word. Most of the time they're voice activated once you answer and say "hello". If you remain silent, they won't start the conversation. Hang up after a couple seconds if no one responds.

I ask them if its on the specific toy from the adult shop from the movie Naked Gun 2 1/2 that the clerk tells Leslie Nielsen they got in for him.  They usually hang up at that point.

Talking hysterical gibberish, or sounding like I'm having a mental seizure is much more fun...with the same results.

Marketing calls are down to about one or two per week now.  B)

I like your strategy. If I get a call like that and I’m not busy, I’ll sometimes respond with voice impersonations. It’s fun to see how long you can string them along while keeping character: “Now you listen to me mister, I own a truck that’s solidly manufactured in the United States of America. I don’t need no gotdang extended warranty and I don’t need some gotdang twig-boy calling to tell me otherwise. Now if you’ll excuse me I’ve got some propane to sell.”

Some genus (myself) decided it would be a good idea to colour match the black plastic cowl on my truck since I’m going to be painting the entire truck. After 2-1/2 hours of sanding I finally finished the million 1cmX1cm little square vents. will it look good? Yes, was it worth it? Probably not. Now I need to do the other half.....

That's a lot of sanding!  But why sand bare plastic?  Unless you use water-based paints, the "stinky" paints will stick really well to plastic. No sanding should be required.  And if you really want to scuff the plastic, maybe just use a small brass-bristle brush on the zillion of those little squares. Sometimes those are called "suede brush".

Maybe by color match he was meaning to say that he wants to paint the cowl body color. Most black plastic cowls are textured, which would not bode ideal for gloss or metallic two stage paint.

Even so, why sand those hundreds of thin "grate" like pieces?  Those are so small that they probably aren't textured. And even if they were, that texture would disappear under a coat of primer, color and possibly clear.  If I was painting those to match the car color, I would probably mask and paint those thin grate-like parts black, so they not be visible.
