My current employer normally gave us the days before or after a holiday off if any fell on a weekend, though they’re expecting us to be busy enough on the 26th and 2nd that we Will be working those days, so since I didn’t request tomorrow or the 26th off as part of my week off next week expecting the day off any way, I got scheduled to work then and almost got scheduled for tomorrow too!  It also looks like the storm knocked out our internet for now from a branch landing on the line, need to call AT&T after dinner to see how quick we can get someone here to fix it.

Should be interesting to see how that works out, may end up with Monday off anyway…….

Work!  My company declared a “Work from home” week this week and we are shut down next week.  Sounds good?  Well for everyone but me!

When the building is empty, it’s the time we do a bit of construction. I have contractors in updating two coffee kitchens. I don’t mind this week, but they are moving slooo and made mention they’d need to be back next week!

As in Hey I’m supposed to be on vacation!  We will see, but it does not look good!

Blame it on those woke/cancel culture environmental terrorists that wanted to ban plastic bags because it killed one sea turtle, ban fossil fuels because it caused climate change, ban gas powered automobiles, lawn equipment and ram and force the rest of us to invest in electric vehicles instead and such.

Walmart is banning bags in all their stores. No more paying a tiny 33 cents or whatever it is for paper grocery bags. Yeah... let’s see how well that turns out for them.

I love the folks that buy all healthy foods and then at check out pull out the reusable cloth bag that looks like it was in the high school gym locker all year and only seeing the light of day at the end of school year purge.

Was out plowing our driveway with the tractor earlier today and when i was done an hour later i noticed that my keys had fallen out of the pocket in my jacket..

They are somewhere in one of the 4 piles that are 3x2meters big....

Wonder if i will ever find them or i have to wait untill spring when everything starts to melt..

you could try tieing a magnet on a bit of string and gently swinging it over the piles. It wont bring them magically to the surface but the magnet might tremble a little if the keys are near the surface and the magnets got a bit of strength/power to it. its a slim chance but it might work

If know of anyone who has a metal detector or rent one, that’ll work. Hope you didn’t lose it on the highway otherwise the plow probably took it with him down the road to god knows where.

I tried with a magnet bit that did nothing. Anyways i found them today when there was daylight.

They were in the middle of the yard infront of the building where i park the tractor. They must have fallen out when i jumped out to open the doors to drive in and park the tractor.

For some odd reason you have to have a permit to own or buy a metal detector here. So almost no one owns one.

No highway near our house. Only a small village road that hardly gets plowed untill some of us that lives here decide to do it.

Not much to be irked about, but as a long time Broncos fan, yesterday's game was a lump of coal Xmas present.   Worst football game I've watched in a long time.   On the plus side, it's going to be 20F here today, and the sun has been out a couple times.

I’ve had my WiFi back since Saturday evening, but for some reason today, my laptop won’t stay connected, took me 30 min from the time I “punched in” to where I could start taking phone calls as the thing wouldn’t stay connected, now mid way through one of the few calls I’ve had, I get booted and it won’t connect again. Haven’t had issues with my iPhone and Dad hasn’t complained about it with his phone, iPad,or Mac as of yet.

Try being a Raider fan over the past twenty years, especially regarding player acquisition.  As fans we watched our "brain trust" take wild risks on any number of "hidden gems" while dozens of players we could've had went on to highly productive careers with other teams, some in our own division.  It got to the place where ESPN couldn't wait to see what idiocy we would pull off every time the draft came around.  In 2019 we had amassed three 1st round picks through trades etc.  That should've set us up for future greatness, but of those three, only Josh Jacobs is a starter (they did not renew his contract after his 4th year), Abrams has been traded and only God knows why Ferrell is still on the team.

Last year's team, led by an interim coach, made the playoffs.  This year's team, led by a former Belichick assistant, features multiple player "upgrades" including newly acquired WR Davante Adams (a rare quality "get" by Raiders' staff) but probably won't break .500.

We are close to setting a record for the number of games lost despite leading by double digits at halftime.  Junior college coaching staffs make better decisions, and have proven they can adapt to changes the other team makes.   Us?  No.

Then again, as a player, would you be inspired by this owner?

Mark Davis Raiders Haircut - Pin On My Beckham : Mark davis spends every morning at p.f.

From what I've seen, he'd be out of his depth as an assistant manager at Chuck E Cheese.

But I'm not bitter...

Being sold faulty auto parts. I learned my lesson. From now on I’ll just rip open the box while it’s on the counter in the store and try jiggling bushings to see if there’s any play. If their reaction is like the video in Bill’s post above mine then they don’t need my business. :)

Here's my delivery related story. I have a package coming from a L.A. based hobby shop that I've purchased from many times. The packages usually go from L.A. to Chicago to Toronto. This one assuming due to the storm went from L.A. to Charlotte to Fort Worth but this is where it gets really weird, from Fort Worth it went to Toronto but today is back in Fort Worth.

A Movie...

I have never seen the 1980 Horror "masterpiece" that is "The Shining". The famous one. Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, and all that.

The movie was well filmed, and decent to watch, until you get to the Baseball Bat part. Then, "Gah!" The next 4 1/2 hours of the movie are awful. Loud Shrill (so-called) Music, Nicholson eats the scenery, and poor Shelly spends that same 4 1/2 hours with the same look of vacuous horror frozen on her face. And this is where the modren Horror Movie convention of slowing things down, to "increase the fear" (Bore You with closer and bloodier) camera shoots must originate. And then of course, Jack kills the only hope of rescue. They Showed an "Akitiv Snow Trac"in the beginning of the movie. I thought "Great, I'll get to see it run" (Chekov's Gun and all that). But, No! Jack tears out the Dist Cap, and that's it for the Snow Trac. What a let down.

What an awful movie. Glad I finally saw it, but what a Turkey!  What a  steaming pile of garbage this movie is.
