BlackSheep214
Next time you go there, inform the LHS owner he’s charging too much and you got yours $5 cheaper for the same product at Hobby Lobby - a saving half of what he’s expecting. I’d be interested in what his response is. LOL!

Small operators often HAVE to charge more, because low-volume sales at the competitor's prices may not generate enough cash-flow to pay the rent and other expenses. Own and operate a business before you jump to conclusions. EDIT: But don't worry. With rapidly escalating costs for everything (including wages for thumb-up-their-apps help, rent, and utilities) and more people buying online, they won't be in business much longer anyway. Then everyone can whine more about how they miss the LHS. Edited January 5, 2023 by Ace-Garageguy

Guy before me bought a bunch of R/C items ( bigger ticket items) Also they have cut the model section down over half with cars/trucks on one side Military kit's on the other . They used to have two sides of each, And they are now charging nearly 14.00 for Bare metal foil ! They only had the black chrome, and so I bought it direct from BMF : One sheet matte Aluminum, one sheet chrome for $7.50 each with shipping added it was just over $21.00 for them. stitchdup
I've been made redundant. Maybe got one weeks work left then i have to deal with the nasty jobcentre which is really an oxymoron since they dont have any details about jobs and always look for the best way to not pay unemployment. I'll find out what/if theres any compensation on weds. At least i have a massive stash of models and the printer to keep me going.

stitchdup
I'm not going to let it get me down, I knew the job wasn't going to last forever as the boat has been on sale for a while now so I've been buying and trading a lot of plastic in preperation. And I have enough to keep me going for a good length of time. Once i get my final wage I'll head to the factors and get a load of paints and primers to last a while. I'm also going to get in touch with my internet service to see if I can pay 6 months in advance so that is taken care of. It'll be kinda nice not being confused by what day it is as working week on/week off at nights I have to check my phone to see what day it is, and i wont be trying to swap between days and nights every week. I think I'll ask if they need someone on standby for relief work too which might be a foot in the door when any jobs come up. And the biggest bonus is i wont have to deal with incompetant guy that cant even lift the toilet seat again so thats got me pleased

I usually go down for a few minutes and end up spending a few hours piddling around. Come to think of it 🤔 that’s how most of my current projects have started 🤣😂

Only if you feel like you are going to be under the bench, or on your hands and knees crawling over the floor, for awhile looking for that runaway part and the nourishment will help you to rise up on your feet again. cobraman
I'm building a teeny, tiny 1/72 Gee Bee airplane. The decals give you most of what you need but you do need to fill in with some red paint. The instructions say that Humbrol 19 red is a match for the red on the decals. I order some. It does not match at all. I do have some other red that is closer at least on a test strip of plastic. Hopefully it will be a better match. NOBLNG
So yesterday I searched everywhere I could think of for the missing pulleys/fan belt piece for a Revell CJ-7 I’m fiddling with. I bought it open box at a flea market, so I concluded that maybe it was never there (along with the pedals, cb radio and rad hose). So I spent a good amount of time yesterday scratch building pulleys and using a resin alternator. Then first thing this morning I grab one of the pill bottles that I store small chunks of evergreen in…..and there’s the missing parts….complete with a note saying what kit they belong to. 🤬 Open kits I usually go through and put a check mark on the instructions by all the part numbers, but this one I didn’t.😕 Edited January 12, 2023 by NOBLNG
stavanzer
But, your Scratch built one looks better, than the kit part.

I apparently upgraded the alternator too which is fine because I will likely add the winch that is in the kit but not in the instructions. ewetwo
What irks me are these EBay sellers that take forever to send your item out in a reasonable time frame. I won and payed for an item on Jan.7th. It still hasn’t been sent out. Come on. Really? Will not buy from them again.
