Joe Nunes
Went to the store this morning and an 18 egg carton was $8.56...last week a 24 egg carton was $6.38. Big difference in a short time. 😳 Joe

BlackSheep214
Trying to fix my son’s eyeglasses where the glass lens go on the eyeglass frame. For some reason the tiny screw will not catch to attach yet they work WITHOUT the lens in its place. WTH?!?! The missus and my son can hear me swearing up a storm in frustration trying to hold the lens in the frame. Looks like a trip to the eyeglass place will take place Friday where he has no classes at college.
Mark
The last couple of threads on either the screw, or the frame of the glasses, are probably messed up. A slightly longer screw of the same type will usually take care of that.
oldnslow
I have an eyeglass repair kit that has longer screws in it , you might want to check one of those out .

jaymcminn
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING! I ordered the new 1/12 scale Italeri Bugatti 35b from a German eBay seller on 12/25 and it just now has hit US shores. The seller sat on it for more than a week before processing the order and then it sat for another 11 days before moving from Frankfurt. Simultaneously, a large order I placed from Hiroboy in the UK is currently just sitting there due to a cyber attack on the Royal Mail that led them to shut down international deliveries. It's pretty frustrating.
BlackSheep214
That's one reason I rarely order anything overseas. Unless it's something I absolutely need. 99.9% of the time I don't need it that badly.
jaymcminn
When you build a lot of Japanese and European stuff you get stuck ordering a lot from Japan and Europe. Most US sellers won't stock a lot of the trans kits and detail stuff I need for my builds. Hiroboy is usually fantastic for shipping, I can't get too bent out of shape at them for the Royal Mail's issues.
HomerS
Forecast all week for 1"-2" of snow starting this a.m. Meteorologist now says 3"-6". Really went on a limb since we're already at 4" and still snowing!

I think we have had about 58 - 59 inches of snow dropped in this area so far. And more on the way this evening. We are on track with a similar amount for this time last year. More snow and BIGGER flakes! 😁 Joe
ewetwo
Loosing my cell phone. We had to drive from Fonda, NY to Dana Farber in Boston yesterday to make today’s appointments. At the local gas station I decided to take my coat off for the ride. Took my cell out out the pocket. Placed it on the roof. Threw my jacket into the back seat. Got in the car and drove off. I called the station last night when I realized it was missing. No one turned a phone in. We’ll it’s double password locked so they won’t be able to use it. It rang so it’s working but the person can’t answer without the pass code. Plus if it laying along the road it’s history because we got 12 inches of snow last night at home. Oh well. I have to stop getting stressed about driving to Boston because we’ll be spending a lot of time here.

ewetwo
when I get back I’m going to try calling it. But we got 12 inches of snow last night so if it’s at Pilot Gas. It’s been plowed LOL.

There is a "Find my device" utility you can use from any other device if you are signed into your Google account. I would expect that iPhones are similar, but I am not familiar with them. Of course, if it is buried in a snowbank that won't be helpful.
NOBLNG
This has been going on for a few days. The wife and I are painting the living room. I discovered a perfectly vertical hairline crack under one of the windows.🤬 The drywall tape apparently let loose from one side of the joint ( which was not on a stud like it should be).🤬 One thing leads to another and… Some of the paper delaminated from the gypsum core also.🤬 Drywall repair has got to be top of my list of hated chores.🥵

I primed the damaged area with Zinnser BIN shellac to seal it (the leaking window was previously replaced). Then I filled the joint with some Sheetrock 90 setting compound. When that was hardened I gave the whole area a skim coat of the 90 and embedded a strip of fiberfuse tape (I think it works WAY better than the paper tape!) over the joint, then more 90 over the tape. When hardened, sand, more 90, sand repeat. I thought it looked good until I shone my flashlight along the wall.😬 Sand, sand, more mud….🥵 Edited January 24, 2023 by NOBLNG

Not there. So when I got home I had it canceled and bought a new one. No real biggie as we use TracFone. Cheap enough. Just all my numbers were in there. I’ll just send an email out to my contacts and tell them to call e. Then I can just add the contacts. The phone is no good to whoever picked it up.
