ranma Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 (edited) Christmas for me was just as bad as the start of December was. Scammed out of $77.00, loss of use of my debit card because of the scam. No replacement of the debit card yet either! I spent nearly $400.00 on my roommates Christmas, which I paid for an eye test, and new Glasses. Then bought a few thing's for under the tree for him as well. In return I got zip zero Nothing under the Tree for me this year!!! Not even a visit from the jolly o'l elf! The start of 2025 won't be a good one either! Any cash I having coming will be already spent. Tag for the plates on the car, Insurance for said car, Cell phone service, and Trash bill due as well. Edited December 26, 2024 by ranma 1 1

It hurts to be taken for granted. I hope things get better for you.
Falcon Ranchero Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 We're just starting to get the bad rain weather. Was nice all week went skiing yesterday but nothing of the sort will happen on the weekend or today. It's gettin' pretty messy around here; slush freezing to ice. Speaking of the skiing I mentioned I guess on Christmas eve two dunderheads decided to go joyriding with thier cars on the actual ski trail and then get stuck. And then the payloader sent in to get them out got stuck. It was all cleared up by the time we went yesterday but still how stupid do you have to be to just wreck community property like that. These days there is simply no respect for other's property.
A modeler named mike Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Over the years I've had a couple of teeth containing old fillings break while eating somewhat hard items. They have broken at the gum line and never ached. Last month another one cracked, but this time vertically leaving the back half still intact. Once again not hurting one bit. Last night after popping a seedless grape in my mouth and taking that first bite I heard a crack followed by a sharp pain. Now the remaining piece of tooth has some looseness but is attached somewhere enough to not disengage. It's impossible to eat without irritating it not to mention the wondering tongue that can't leave it alone. I put in a call to my oral surgeon and I'm awaiting a call back for an appointment. Not the best time of the year to get into any type of doctors office, some are closed over the holidays. I guess theirs always good old whiskey to dull the pain..😉 2

I do Dave, I just dislike the whole dental experience, especially the needles. It all stems from the jerk dentist we had as a kid. I am the, I'm not going until I have no other choice kinda guy. It was tough to even make the call. 1

I went thru the whole braces' thing thru my teens, and I think I had nothing but soup to eat as long as I can remember. I still don't like anyone putting their hands in my mouth. I have had dental implants where the old teeth would no longer support a crown. While expensive I like that better than the false teeth and bridges that have been recommended in the past. Good luck to you with your dental issues. 1
John M. Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 In the middle of my time off for the Christmas holiday, the general manager of my school bus company sent out a text message to all drivers including me reminding us that all schools we service resume on the second. We all knew that before hand.
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 So far nothing particularly irksome other than the fact that my new point-of-use propane-fired shower water heater has already developed an internal water leak, and of course it's dripping on the control circuit board. Guess I better just order another one so's I'll have hot water while this one goes back for warranty. They're only $150 or so, so it's not that big a deal, and I can always use one for a shop shower out West, but it's the idea of HAVING to buy another one for backup that I find annoying. Quality, as always, is job one from our "offshore" suppliers.

LennyB Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Installed an MFP (Multi Function Printer) for a client yesterday. They have in house IT staff so all we need to do is drop the equipment off, plug it in and they do the rest. Old machine is on a lease and the lease ended the beginning of the month and while we could have installed it then, by their request it was held off to yesterday because the IT person wasn't available any sooner. But the person we were scheduled to work with didn't show, someone else did. Time was set by them so that the room would be empty of people so we could work, it wasn't. Outlet for MFP was occupied by other devices, had to shuffle things around. But we get it installed, they test it and sign off on it. Old machine needs to go back to the leasing company within 30 day, and we are already 3 weeks into that 30 days. Which means we need to get it back to the leasing company next week so that the customer doesn't get charged for another month. So the first thing we do when the machine is back in our shop is prep it for return which means primarily that we do a complete data wipe so none of their information gets out into the free world. Couple of hours after this is all done the client calls saying they didn't get a chance to backup their address book and wanted to know if we could get them one. Sorry too late. And now they are complaining that it's our fault and making a big deal of it even though they had three weeks to do this. What is that saying, Poor planning on your part does not make for an emergency on mine. 4

rattle can man Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 I guess you could call it today. The dreaded "what are you doing/ are you ever coming to bed?" said the early bird to the night owl at 02:00.

Shouldn't be too difficult. And when the partner is asleep, you could sneak out of bed and be that night owl. If that doesn't work, try knockout drops in hot cocoa. 3
stavanzer Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Went to get a loaf of bread at the Grocery Store. I found Hot Wheels in a bin marked at 4 for $5.00. I got some. Standing at the checkout to pay for everything, I saw Candy Bars. Reese's Cups, Kit Kat, 3 Musketeers. They were marked 2 for $5.00. What kind of Crazy World is it when Hot Wheels cars are Cheaper than Candy Bars? I give up....... 2

Bugatti Fan Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Minor irk ! Didn't there used to be a 'Funnies' thread on here to post jokes on ? if so, what happened to it ? Deleted ? Locked ?

johnyrotten Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Not really an "irk", just an observation, those that complain of their situation yet refuse to change the behavior that put them in that spot in the first place. And doing so while interrupting my conversation and morning coffee. 3
