camaromaniak Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 this truck is a nice kit so far. changed it from a f-150 to a f-250 highboy . i know it still has the 79 grill but oh well. bare metal foil is such a pain . there is alot of it to do on this build.
camaromaniak Posted November 28, 2013 Author Posted November 28, 2013 axles are from the kit . springs and tires are from the mad mudder blazer
62pyro Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Looks good.If you're looking to backdate it,I may have a resin grill for it.
01blueedge Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 nice build its always nice to see these 73-79 pickups lifted
redneckrodder Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 im doin a dark blue 73 in January or febuary when thesuper stones ford is reissued
Eshaver Posted November 30, 2013 Posted November 30, 2013 I'm confused Kevin. The grille you probably have has the "Singular " Rectangle headlamps , standard on ALL 1979 Ford trucks regardless of the series . The same grille was used on the Ford's in 1978 also . Now , the difference really comes into play where only the "Ford Custom " series was concerned in 1978. This series was a line devoid of chrome trim anywhere on the truck . These trucks used the Round singular lamps . I own a 78 Ford Custom and I have Shop manuals for most ford trucks going back to 1949 ......................

That's why the rearend is seven inches farther to the rear than a normal long wheel base. That's the major complaint everyone has regarding this kit. Myself especially. It does have the wrong springs for the front.
