Is there made any kit or resin-kit of the 77-79 Caprice/Impala coupe? I used to own an 77 with the "fish bowl" rear glass, and would be cool to try to make an replica.

Close, at one time Modelhaus did a '81 or '82 Caprice Coupe but that was after the fishbowl rear glass was dropped. Later on it was converted to a the 85 Impala 4dr which is still in his catalog as far as I know. You could work it backwards but the 77-79 full size Chevy's had different outer sheet metal based on the same platform.

Ertl offered a Diecast nascar cup car of this era Impala/Caprice.

Ready to display/Play with, and even kit

Richard Petty's 43 or DW's 88 Gatorade were the only 2 versions offered.

I have the Kit version of th e88!!

It did not have the "Fishbowl" rear window, though I think when used on track they DID!!

Aerodynamics!

This is what Modelhaus used to make the Impala/Caprice sedan!!

I like the design of the coupe with the special rear glass. Great looking cars with the "right" color combination. My car was an 305 with only AC extra if i`m not very wrong. It had manual windows and no sunroof. less to go wrong. It was dead reliable, comfy and quiet. It was an Landau version,i never figured what it means but i think it was the part vinyl roof. Before i sold the car it got dual exhaust, headers, edelbrock performer cam, intake and carburator,it was said to give around 180-200hp. Not sure about numbers but it moved way better than original. I really miss this car a lot.

If anyone know about a good 1:1 for under 10000$ i`d be happy to know about it. Donks and lowriders are out of the question.
