saiguanas Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 I am new to modeling. Just got my first kit, a Revell 1:25 69 Chevelle. I would like to ad silver racing stripes but am having trouble finding a resource. Do they make model specific decals or just a generic one that you have to fit? Do they make them at all or do you have to paint them on?
jbwelda Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 heres one place, in australia, who sells sheets of racing stripe decals. ive used them and they are good: http://members.optusnet.com.au/pattosplace/home.html not sure where on his site you have to go to find them but dig around and you will. they come in a number of colors and he has all kinds of other decals as well. they are probably ALPS printed. you can also buy stripe tape and lay your own down, but you need to find the very thin stuff. i have some but dont remember where i got it. another way is to look on ebay or at swap meets for bags full of decals, or swap them with others who have them.
bigphoto Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 There is also silver decal sheet that you could make your own stripes with. The link below should help: http://www.microscale.com/Merchant2/mercha...Product_Count=4
Enzoenvy1 Posted November 27, 2007 Posted November 27, 2007 When I flew RC planes we had a set of different sized pinstriping that was good quality. It was at the LHS all of the time. It might be too thick for a scale model, but I am not sure? If anything, you can use these as taping aids and then paint them?!
