slusher Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 What is the best paint and color for a 69 Chevy Camaro grill??
Jordan White Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Here's a good reference I found when doing research for a build. http://www.camaros.org/exterior.shtml#1969Grille
slusher Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 Thanks Jordan, now I need to decide what silver to use...
Jordan White Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 I did a search on what was used on the 1:1 and it seems no one is really sure. The general consensus is that it's an "argent silver", and one guy said that his was painted with Krylon Dull Aluminum. If it's the 1/25 scale kit you're building, I'm sure most silvers would work just fine.
slusher Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Thanks so much for your help.... Edited December 19, 2013 by slusher
LoneWolf15 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 The easiest method that I've found .... I shoot the entire grill with semi gloss black . Once it flashes , I take a medium tipped silver Sharpie and lightly trace the the entirety of the raised portions of the grill .
Craig Irwin Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Remember everything outside the chrome grille surround molding should be painted body color.
