I´m back. The time for paint is coming. I used Silver Shine from Mr.Hobby, over is Super Clear lll. Decals are from Modeltruckin (thanx Jerry). There is good work with this decals, unfortunately my work with it is no 100%. The are some small mistakes. Super clear is also used over the decals. Very good information is that there ara any "steps" between surface and decals. Polishing was not necessary so much...just a little bit. Next will follow work with chrome Alclad.

Trying to spray silver and get it look right and flow evenly as a primary body paint color is no easy task. You did VERY well. Better than I could do for sure.

On the decals and just offering a suggestion. There is some stuff called Solv-a-set by Walthers (there are others but I find this one the best) that works well on pulling the decals into tiniest of grooves, rivets and louvers. Sometimes it takes a few applications of it over a couple of days but it does work. Solv-a-set seems to be a bit more aggressive than Tamiya, Testors, or other decal setting solutions

If you have already clear coated over the decals, you can take a fresh blade and basically slice or ###### the decal through the clearcoat and after several applications it sometimes still does its job. If you elect try it on the front intake vent louvers, I would try doing one louver over and over for a few days and once it completely dries, then try the next one above or below it otherwise the whole thing may open up noticeable cracks.

And the blue frame and upgrades you have done will make this a really nice rig.

Surely dont see many models done up in silver but I surely do remember alot of them on the highway back in this era. NICE job.

Thanx Jesse. This is interesting information. I usually used setter and softers from Mr.Hobby. These are great. But I still learning how to work with. The problematic area is only round small door window. But over there will be placed mirror. And it will cover this area.

I know that silver paint is not usually used on big rigs at this times. But I only try work with it, because I've just one peterbilt in this colour in my collection. So, we'll see...how it will be at the end of the work.

Dude, you do some of the most detailed rigs....There are just a couple of guys that can hang with you, and I'm not one of them....Very exquisite detail....I always like to look at yours and a few other guys' builds as I'm always amazed at the level of detail....Great job, Man.... :)

Pavel, JT hit the nail on the head. Your builds are some of the 'must see' posts on this forum. Great paintwork and color combination. Looking forward to more pics. Mark.

I agree with purepmd GREAT paint and colour combination. I might just borrow that combination if you don't mind, i just got a ryder trailer with natural weathering as it was i someones crawl space for about 20 years. I don't think mine would be a detailed. Ewan
