realgone58 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Another JoHan promo that I've had since sometime in the '80s. I did the interior and landau top in a pale green, and the body is the facory JoHan finish of Edinburg Green metallic. I polished and foiled it. I also detailed the interior with the appropriate woodgrain. I am not a big fan of wire wheel covers, which this promo had, so I switched out to '72-3 ElDorado wheel covers, which resemble the '77 Cadillac full wheel cover. I also went with taller JoHan white walls to fill the wheel wells up better. It has some flaws, and still needs a hood ornament, but looks much better than it did.
Erik Smith Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Classy. Nice rework - beautiful paint job.
mangodart Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Very nice, funny how the color looks different between inside and outside pics !!!
Scalper Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Great looking Caddy .. the molded green looks nice.
realgone58 Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 Very nice, funny how the color looks different between inside and outside pics !!! That's why I usually take a couple of indoor shots to go along with my outside ones. Just to show how lighting affects the way a color looks.
slusher Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Beautiful color and shine. Great looking model Al. Last of the beautiful caddies...
Porscheman Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Beautifully done Alan. I like turning promo' s into your own creations.
Chuck Most Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Nice! I've long played with the idea of using the body of this kit on the full-detail chassis from the Revell '84 lowrider.
