WoodyRDC Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Here is a little different 56 Ford - not to diff just styled different.
Belugawrx Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Very cool chop Sides are stylin`..... Oh Toronto Maple Leafs called .......they want their sticks back Laff Keep it up!!
Joker Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I thought of this custom as soon as I saw the side trim. This is a pic I've saved from the H.A.M.B. Couldn't get any more info on it tho. link...http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=782448
WoodyRDC Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 You nailed it Joker. Funny you came up with that pic. I saw the same one and it is my inspiration for this build !!!!! My wheels are just mock-ups in the pics above.Tires are Modelhaus but may be too wide of whitewall. Not sure yet how I will paint but I love the colors. I have some more pics to post yet. I used the wrong skirts and had to change them. The grille I found was from the 58 Impale kit but It doesn't seem to have enough shape to follow the hood beak. I am still on the hunt for one that fits better.
Joker Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 oh yeah..go with the longer skirts. A longroof builder and buddy here on MCM, uses fishing line and styrene to make the grill style (tube grill)shown. Youtube link..@ 2:23...fishing line used as spacer..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0whIq58MuDk Keep us posted

58 Impala Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 It's going to look sweet. Are you going with the same colors as the 1:1, candy red and white?
Skip Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Nice, '55 &'56 Victorias are one of my favorite Fords of the '50's. Just wish that there was a better version of the Crown Vic' the body isn't bad but the upper chrome is in need of a lot of fine tuning to get it to look right; maybe now that Alclad is here it might be doable. I'm tempted to pick up another '56 Victoria now that it's been reissued,,, I've got a huge backlog waiting to be built as is, maybe later. You make that top chop look easy, I'll bet it wasn't either. Sometimes the things that look like they would be simple to pull off turn out to be one huge headache. Really like what you are doing with this one, looks like a bunch of us saw that one over at the H.A.M.B., good stuff doesn't remain a secret too long!
WoodyRDC Posted February 9, 2014 Author Posted February 9, 2014 Thanks for all the compliments guys So far (LOL not painted yet) this has been really fun. Stupid me I found out where the hockey sticks came from - 1955 Pontiac - I did'nt know !!! Bear with me this build could take awhile. I don't have the paint I have to order it. Hope to go with Brandywine candy from HOK. Like the pics, Maybe Candy apple red. On to the grille. I have scratch built a little something. I could not find anything I like in my small stash of stuff, I used .047 music wire and bent each piece a little diff I made the retainers for the wire from styene. I will trim the retainers away and glue the tubes in when all done.
WoodyRDC Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 I have done a little more work, mostly sanding, smoothing and surround around grille. Getting ready for next thin coat of primer. I usually do this 2 or 3 time to work out all the scratches and marks I left in the body - LOL. All one color lets me see the imperfections. Looks I will these tires and rims
crazyrichard Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 omg how stunning , that just looks sooo good
