Hondo Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Chassis is from the '34 Ford "Slammer" kit, body from a '35 Chevy "Tobias" kit. Aftermarket wheels & tires. Leftover decals. A little whackin' & hackin' and here's what happened.............
Old Coyote Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Beautiful job Jim ............ that's an outstanding build
RobDD Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Very nice work indeed! I've built a few of these kits over the years and they don't look this good.
superbike-shaun Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 hondo, cool screen name btw,vry cool work indeed do you have any wip pics? shaun.s.
Hondo Posted April 4, 2014 Author Posted April 4, 2014 Thanks for the comments everyone ! Drew, yes, those are PPP tires & wheels. Shaun, here's the only WIP pix I have on this one .
GoatGuy Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 That looks great. PPP tires and wheels really help. Overall great job.
Psychographic Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 What a beautiful old sedan. I just love the look of it, and it's a very clean build. You should be very proud of it. Have you built any other short track sedans or coupes?
southpier Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 love the wall phone. never could get those cords untangled!
Hondo Posted April 6, 2014 Author Posted April 6, 2014 I appreciate the support, guys. Glad you like this one. Joe, yep those old phone cords were a problem for sure. David, I do have some others I've done. Will post them soon. Thanks again !!
James2 Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Nice looking Short Tracker. That body fits the Slammer frame better!
grt222 Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Nice job hondo, that body does fit that chassis well. i was getting ready to build the tobias gremlin, after seeing this i might try that chassis with the gremlin body instead. Thanks for the tip.
Hondo Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 Thanks again ! GRT hope that Gremlin will work on the Slammer chassis. I was thinking about the '34 Ford Slammer body on the Tobias..... Will require some hacking to get that to happen. Good luck on yours. I'm sure it'll look great.
