Mackvision Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Hello all! new here, but thought I would post some pics of my current "get my feet wet" project after a 30 year hiatus from the hobby,i am looking forward to learning some new tips and techniques................Mark
Jim B Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 That interior looks great! I think we can get some tips & techniques from you!
Old Buckaroo Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Yeah I am with Jim, nice interior work and I am equally impressed with your front wheels. Thanks for sharing.
Mackvision Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 Thanks guys! it's coming back to me slowly but surely! still quite a bit to do,i wasn't at all satisfied with the way the "fender extensions" looked,so I did some bodywork on the hood for a more one piece look. Cab and hood are almost ready for paint, then just final assembly............got a lot of catching up to do,thats for sure!..............Mark
Mackvision Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 Here are a few more,interior,rear wheels,and engine...........................Mark

BigBad Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Fit the hood before the cab and adjust the cab position according to the installed hood!!! Otherwise, nice start!
Tesla Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 30 year hiatus and you didn't miss a beat. Great work Mark
cappy625 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) I have to agree with james also. I know I can learn some tips from you. like how did you do the gauge faces? Edited April 27, 2014 by cappy625
disabled modeler Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Looking good. What 30 year hiatus? Ben Same here...very nice! You haven't lost any touch over the 30 years by the look of it...awesome work.
Mackvision Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Thanks guys! Cappy,I did the gauge bezels using Testors Chrome Silver (drybrushed) and then did the back faces with Flat black craft paint, then I carefully scraped away the paint from the dials and needles with an X-Acto knife, next step was to add some Neon green (also craft paint) to the numerals,Neon red to the needles with a sharpened toothpick. Then a dab of clear epoxy to seal everything up. I invested in a good amount of craft paints in various colors, personally I like the stuff for certain things, its cheap, goes on nice, and very forgiving with any mishaps!...............................Mark
Mackvision Posted May 25, 2014 Author Posted May 25, 2014 Got some more engine/drivetrain detailing done,as well as cab and hood in paint,i will try and post some pictures later this week................................Mark
Old Buckaroo Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Mark - I really like the way you did the rear wheels.
Mackvision Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Thank you Sean, closing in on finishing the Road Boss, just need some bench time! I am now starting to get some materials together for my White-Freightliner C.O.E project. Some fantastic work on this site! and some really good ideas and tips too! Personally I prefer the "real" looking working truck themes, but we sure have some talented custom guys as well! I will update the "Boss" asap!..............................Mark
RoadbossJammer Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 looks really nice. for some reason on mine I had problems with the rear metal axles being too long. great detail work by the way.
Mackvision Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Mine were slightly too long as well,i removed approx. 1mm from each axle and they seemed to fit better......................................Mark
