How do I strip old glue off parts? I got hold of a John Milner dragster and I want to unglue the frame rails and the motor parts. Can I soak it in easy-off or something else to do this? I'm not really worried about the chrome parts on the engine because I can redo them with Alclad paints but the frame rails are done rather poorly and so is the rest of the engine, blower mounted backwards etc. etc....................

If you soak the car in purple power(super clean that we strip paint off models with) it will take the chrome off, and if they were glues on the chrome they may just fall apart.

Both of these methods mentioned above work to a Varying degree. You just need to see, which one will work for you best. It kind of depends on how well it was put together the first time.

I use the freezer trick when restoring truck models . Duno how it works but soak the model in water for a couple of hours put it in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer for a day or two . It then makes the glue brittle .
