azers Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Haven't posted in a while so thought I would show my latest project. Its a amt camaro that started out life on my bench as a incomplete glue bomb. Stripped it all down and with the help of the modelhaus and spare kits was able to restore it. it fiery orange to match my real car. I used fireball modelworks tire decals which worked real nice. Enjoy
crazyjim Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I'm lovin' the SHINY :) . Shouldn't there be a chrome strip at the bottom of the vinyl roof?
azers Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 Research showed black and chrome. So I went with the black.
Danno Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Beautiful! And my very fave generation of Camaro. And, it has a d@#^ mirror!
Harry P. Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 And, it has a d@#^ mirror! Exactly. Maybe you can learn from this....
TooOld Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Very nice ! That full bumper looks so much better than the split bumpers .
azers Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 (edited) I like the full bumper look better than the split bumper myself. Classier looking and retains its heritage to the older models. Edited May 23, 2014 by azers
Speedfreak Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 (edited) Very nice Joe, love these '70' Camaro's. So did Camaro's have this same body shape from 701/2 to 74? Edited May 23, 2014 by Speedfreak
azers Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 70 to 73. Then they restyled the body. 74 was only year of new body style that carried over the 73 rear window. Then 75 to 81 used the wrap around rear window.
Bob Ellis Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 You did a great color combo with the paint and vinyl roof. MPC made a one year full bumper on their Camaro called Camaro Super Hugger. Then in '71, MPC went to a split bumper. I am guessing they wanted to be different than AMT? You can convert a split bumper to full by buying the Modelhaus resin one.
Porscheman Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Beautiful build!!! I think the only thing you missed are the chrome bezel that suround the head lights.
Teddy J. Tannehill Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 Really good looking. You did a great job the top looks so real.
azers Posted May 24, 2014 Author Posted May 24, 2014 Yes I realized I forgot the headlight trim. Next one im doing im fitting aluminum tubing in the headlight and tailights to simulate the trim. I think it looks good without it. Thanks for all the compliments.
