realgone58 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Got this kit from Al Rich (thatz4u) in an awesome trade deal! Thanks Al! I changed it from a TC-3 Sport, to a base model TC-3 by removing the molded in rear spoiler, removing the molded in quarter window half louvers, and adding white wall tires. It's finished to simulate Nightwatch Blue, but it's a little bright in the sun. Straight enamel with Dupont 7480S clear. What a junk kit these things are. Nothing fits, everything is pretty much a guess. Man how I don't miss the '80s! It sits a tad high and the wheels should be tucked in a bit, but that would call for quite a bit of fabrication. Just a shelf model of an odd subject.
Rob Hall Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Neat...I think that kit was only issued once. I've got one in my stash to build eventually, molded in orange IIRC.
unclescott58 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 (edited) It maybe a lossy kit. But, I like it. Keep sneakin' peaks at them on eBay. But, just not willing to pay the price. Very nice job Alan. Scott Edited June 18, 2014 by unclescott58

Scalper Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Nice job .. I remeber thses cars. . never knew it was kitted.
1972coronet Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I had no idea a kit of that car existed! Cool! The mirrors alone fetch a pretty penny !
Joe Handley Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I had no idea a kit of that car existed! Cool! I think it was same tooling that the MPC Shelby Charger came from, probably updated the tooling to the L-Body Charger spec before Shelby started playing with the real cars.
TFchronos Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Now there's one you don't see everyday, model or 1:1. Very nice job on it!
Davewilly Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Great Job! I remember the late 70's early 80's all you could find was those kinda cars and Chevy luv's Datsun Pickups and ford currier's at the Kmarts and Longs drugs in the day
Porscheman Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Nice build Alan. I hated this car when it was brought out and still do. But liked the pickup version.
realgone58 Posted June 18, 2014 Author Posted June 18, 2014 Here's the box. After this release, they changed the tail lights and it was the Dodge Omni O24. Then it became the Shelby Charger releases.
charlie8575 Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Never even knew of this one. Nice job, Alan. Charlie Larkin
Chris White Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 I so wrecked that car as a teenager, cool build.
