mikemodeler Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I was in the Hobby Lobby in Matthews NC last night and there were quite a few models on clearance. The Revell 69 ZL-1 Camaro, 57 Ford, 50 Olds, and a bunch of Monogram & AMT kits as well. Didn't need another 69 Camaro but couldn't resist! I believe they were marked 40% off, but my guess is they are getting ready for some new releases!
johnbuzzed Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) Rats! I already spent my model budget for this month... Edited June 25, 2014 by johnbuzzed
Dale W. Verts Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 What's a "model budget"? Never heard of such... Dale
Jeff Johnston Posted June 26, 2014 Posted June 26, 2014 Michael s had a few on clearance for $11.99 last week too.
ianguilly Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 You can get 40% off any model any day at hobby lobby.
Harry P. Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 You can get 40% off any model any day at hobby lobby. Yes, but only one item. But if they are on clearance, you can buy as many clearance items as you want, no coupon needed. In fact, the 40% off coupon doesn't apply to clearance items at all.
1930fordpickup Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I forgot to look for the flex file today. GGRRRRR . LOL 57 Ford , 56 Ford, 99 Mustang Cobra for me today. They had several different kits on sale.
slusher Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I am going today and pick up a few things. Looks like a hobby shop in here already....
johnbuzzed Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 What's a "model budget"? Never heard of such... Dale LOL! I try to limit the spending, this way, when I do drop $75.00 on supplies alone- no kits involved-, it doesn't seem like such a big hit.
Tom Geiger Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Jim got my attention with those $8 dune buggies. I would have bought the stack too! I checked out the Hobbby Lobby near my work yesterday in Lawrenceville, NJ. Those sales must be either by store or region because there wasn't a single kit with a sales sticker at all! I even asked the clerks who said nothing was on clearance.
slusher Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I went this afternoon and not much on clearance. All funny cars on sale, no trucks. I bought the 67 GTX on clearance and Foose 64 Chevy. 50 Olds And 57 and 56 fords on clearance also...
Thatswhatshesaid Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 I don't get how they clearance the models company wide. Around here the Manx kits clearanced long ago. Not much of the stuff makes it past the 40% discount here. Only the junk seems to make it to the deep discounts.
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Thanks for the heads-up. I was able to pick up a couple of extra '50 Olds and '57 Ford kits cheap. Ah, feed my addiction to kits I probably won't ever get around to building... But... for the low low clearance prices, I can almost justify buying them for parts. I needed a good Y-block and an Olds rear end.
prostockmania Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Picked up 2 50 olds, 2 57 fords, an Arnie Beswick 69 GTO funny car, 69 Camaro ZL-1, 65 Chevelle Z-16 all on clearence, and also got the Firestone 4X4 with the 40% off coupon. They still had Bounty Hunter Mustang, Another Beswick GTO, 1999 cobra, 66 mustang convertible, Monkey mobile, and others on clearence.
tbill Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 I went today, got a 2010 Camaro for $8, the 55 jukebox ford and the 56 crown vic kits for $14 each, all on clearance.
FASTBACK340 Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 (edited) Thought so…. I just won a bet. Edited July 2, 2014 by FASTBACK340
Harry P. Posted July 2, 2014 Posted July 2, 2014 Thought so…. I just won a bet. Good for you. But rules are rules. You think you're the only one with an opinion on that? I could write a book on the topic. But we're not supposed to talk about politics here and you know it.
