model.maker Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 G'day all I don't post on forums much these days but thought I'd show my latest finish model. It's about 60% scratch built. The biggest amount of work involved was the brass wire wheels and replacing pretty much all of the chassis in brass as well as the kits parts were just to delicate to hold the weight of the added detail. unclescott58 Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 It's this what James Bond drove in the early books? Very nice model. Scott
Harry P. Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 That's very impressive. You should post more of your work!
sjordan2 Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 (edited) Superb. One of the best I've seen with proper "accurizing" and addition of missing parts. Do you have a front view of the finished model? It's this what James Bond drove in the early books? Very nice model. Scott No, he drove a Blower Bentley closer to this with a fixed canvas top (though described as having a dull gray skin like an elephant, which I take to mean primer). Edited July 4, 2014 by sjordan2
peter31a Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Absolutely gorgeous! Just a beautiful, beautiful build. Thanks for taking the time to share it here.
peekay Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 Fabulous replica, I would hardly have recognised this as the Airfix kit. Beautifully detailed and the wire wheels are perfect.
Belugawrx Posted July 5, 2014 Posted July 5, 2014 Wow,.... just Wow Very nice detail and light weathering of the engine et al.. Cheers
model.maker Posted July 5, 2014 Author Posted July 5, 2014 Impressive work Sean Did you see at Adelaide model expo last year ? I had it there. Sean

Paul H Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 (edited) Beautiful!!! Always nice to see one of these, especially when built to such a high standard No, he drove a Blower Bentley closer to this with a fixed canvas top (though described as having a dull gray skin like an elephant, which I take to mean primer). Wouldn't have been primer. Possibly a reference to faded paint (the car would have been more than 20 years old at its first outing in Casino Royale), but much more likely to have been a fabric body, which is also how the Le Mans VdP body on this model is constructed.
