I was thinking the other day that I don't see many 1/8 scale T buckets set on 32 Ford rails. Isn't that considered the hot setup in hot rod T circles? with the Big T and the Big Deuce both recently reissued i would think i would see them more often. Have I just missed them?

Reason I ask is I was toying with the idea of doing this myself. my initial fitting of a Big T bucket to the Deuce frame (had one built up sitting around from a gluebomb) makes me think its going to be a lot of work: shortened, narrowed, plus i am going to want to Z it at least in the rear and maybe the front as well. i do want the distinctive side profile sculpting to remain, but looks like moving the bucket backwards to better conform to the Z that is already in the frame profile (and i will probably exaggerate). i plan on using a turtle deck on the final car.

Anyone have any good pointers to threads about model Ts on Deuce frames? i have plenty of photos of real cars, i would love to see some 1/8 creations up this alley. and in process build threads would be great too.

Never seen a T on 32 rails, an A on top of 32 rails but not a T, don't think the two are compatible without major surgery.

Just thought of the perfect example of a T on 32 frame. The tweedy pie has a shortened and narrowed 32 ford frame. If you compared that with tge revell 32 ford frame that would give you an idea on how to do it in 8th scale.

In the 1:1 world it depends on the T. A "Bucket T" tends to be a '23-'25. If there's a traditional T on Deuce rails it's the '27. The earlier "buckets", not so much... But I was curious if one could be done successfully. This one's a work in progress I found on the H.A.M.B. but it shows that a well proportion T-Bucket on Deuce rails is very much doable and would actually be pretty tasty:

You'll have to narrow the frame and pinch it in front at the cowl even more. You can see it on the frame in the pic Bernard posted.

If I were you, I wouldn't do a front zee, but do a suicide perch, again like Bernard's pic. You'll definitely want a rear zee to get a nice ride-height, but the '32 frame isn't the easiest to zee.

I've just about settled on doing my own 1:1 next rod on '32 rails, using a '26-'27 glass body, and I've been doing the measuring for cut / paste in full scale.

Narrow the frame first to fit the body shell you're using, and to keep everything square. Then zee the rear end to get the ride height in back. Finally, do the pinch of the rails under the cowl (which amounts to a lateral zee), and fab a new front crossmember to carry the suicide perch.

hey thanks for the ideas and for the pictures! I had forgot all about this thread but the frame has been sitting on a bench with the body next to it so maybe some osmosis will happen! my original thought was a 27 but the reality is the Big T body, and am not enough of an expert to know what needs to be done to update it to a 27. I know the light mounts on the body need to go but also I believe there is cowl work to be done and some other not so subtleties. I would be using a turtle deck like the one shown too. I really like the sculpting of the deuce rails and would want to preserve that...I think I agree pinching the frame will be necessary and I also agree on the suicide mount instead of Zing the front.

still its just a dream sitting there right now.

thanks again
