It should be a singleaxel short nose truck from around 1970. I tried to find some more information about the engine transmission frame and all the little details but I didnt find anything useful. Does one of you have some leaflets from these trucks? Or just know about all the details. Thanks for your efforts.So longArnd

Superpeterbilt Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Heres what I found 1966 was the introduction of the 4000 & 9000 series available with fiberglass tilt hood or steel butterfly hood with fiberglass swing out fenders. Gasoline power from 186 to 250 horsepower(White Mustang) Cummins Diesels from 160 to 335 horse, Detroit Diesel from 195 to 318 horse. The XRL series ( extra reliabilty & longevity) was available with Cummins NHC-250, NHCT-270, and NTC-335. Tranmissions include 10, 13, and 15 spd road rangers and 16 spd Spicers. Thats all I was able to find. Looks like you cant go wrong with a Diamond Reo, Road Boss, or Western Star donor.

Superpeterbilt Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 That was all of the info that my book had. I looked online, and all of the 9000s I found with Detroits were 8V71 @ 318 hsp. I even found the thread to the one you built in 2011 on Hanks truck forum!

I tried the v8 but no way it does not fit and because the hood is of an really bad quality, it is on the back at the cab brighter than on the front at the bumper. This made me a bit sad and I stopped it and put it back in the storage. But now as my Mack came to the end I take it out and I like the shape of the truck a lot so I decide to star with it again. I my mind I want to use an DD 6V-71 but it should beoriginaly and realistic that the truck was availebel with, that is the reason why I started this treat. Superpeterbilt Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Well if this helps, I would imagine that the 9000 has a huge doghouse in the cab. Thats the only way they can run that short of a hood. I remember riding in trucks like that as a kid and the doghouse was almost as big as a cabover. I remember an old dodge that was easier to work on from inside the cab than with the hood open.
