Porscheman Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 This is Polar Lights Spiderman Bettle. It was molded in red, so I primed it in Tamiya's white primer and then applied 3 coats Testors Brilliant Pink lacquer and 3 coats of Testors Wet Look Clear. The interior was done in the Pink with Semi-gloss black 2 tone and I smoked the windows using Tamiya Clear Smoke. All paint was appied out of rattle cans. I lowered the suspension to give a a nice stance with a nice set of after market wheels. I had a lot of trouble with fit, it was one of the most difficult snap kit I ever done. The overall look of the model is very nice though. Thanks for looking. Al
wayne swayze Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Looks really nice. Those wheels really look good on the bug. Is that a slot car drag strip it's parked on?

Zarana-X Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 The paint looks great. Not really feelin' the wheels. Look out of place to me.
Harry P. Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I like it, but the body color wipers don't work for me.
Zarana-X Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I like it, but the body color wipers don't work for me. It's the '80's, man!
Porscheman Posted July 26, 2014 Author Posted July 26, 2014 (edited) Thanks everyone. I bought these wheels at NNL East a couple of years ago and just couldn't find the right car for them. They fit the wheel wells on the VW perfectly IMO. Harry I saw the wipers after I took the pictures, but it take me so long to get up and down the stairs now I thought I could let it slide. I did remember the mirrors though. Al Edited July 26, 2014 by Porscheman
PatW Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Superb looking Beetle! I also had fit problem when putting wheels like this on a Beetle some years ago. I cut the rear wings off and added a narrow strip of plasticard onto the body and re-attached the wings, plus a little filler. The car sat lower still after that!
Porscheman Posted July 26, 2014 Author Posted July 26, 2014 Thanks again everyone. This is a full detail snap kit with opening hood and trunk, but with the fit issues I decided to glue everything closed. Al
DeeCee Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 That's one cool looking bug mate, great color and i like those wheels.
