Shelby 427 1965 Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 So, I've never had a go at making my own rally car before, so here's what we got.. Kit is this one: I made a scratchbuilt roll cage for it. Calsonic decals from a Group A R32 Skyline. Bucket seats, steering wheel, hood pins, Mirrors and antenna are from a Tamiya Evo rally car. I only noticed after I put them on that the chrome bit for them was missing from the box, oh well.. And the antennas broke off during photography.. Grr. Roof scoop from a Tamiya Celica ST185, I think. Exhaust is from the parts box, and the hood lights are from a Tamiya Impreza. So, anyway, here we go! My own rally car, complete with my driver name and my best mate's name as the co-driver. This was a very fun build, and I finished it in around 2 days. Couple fitment issues with the bumpers but oh well. It's a little rough around the edges, but I had a lot of fun building it. All comments and criticisms are much appreciated! Cheers!
Porscheman Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Looks like a Yugo on steroids. Nicely done."
Shelby 427 1965 Posted August 11, 2014 Author Posted August 11, 2014 Cheers guys! I'm not sure on the colour, I used an old can I had lying around. It's Calsonic blue though, so Tamiya should have a can of the same colour for sale.
om617 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Very cool and diffrent. Decals and the extra lights makes all the diffrence.
PatW Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Well done tommo, it looks just right in rally trim. I've seen a few here in various condition, I think we had quite a few on the stages of the British Rally Championship. A very good rally starter car.

Shelby 427 1965 Posted December 15, 2014 Author Posted December 15, 2014 This thing seems to keep rearing it's ugly head... Thanks guys
