Seriously cool, selling EV performance...but I'd be somewhat more impressed if the styling wasn't a Cobra Daytona Coupe clone. Something original might be nice...

From what I understand, Brock and Shelby had given their approval for them to use the look prior to Shelby's passing. Gotta admit though, 500hp and 1000 ft/lbs of torque right friggin' now could be entertaining!

From the article I read about the Renovo the other day it sounded like Brock had a hand in refining the design from the original Cobra Daytona into the vehicle they're producing. There are worse (and far less attractive) ways to spend $550k.

Forgive my lack of knowledge on fully electric cars but aren't they all automatic? It sure looked like he was shifting something. I know with electric bikes it's just a twist and go thing, really weird.

According to their site, it has a single gear direct drive transmission, which pretty much fits in with any electric car I've ever been around. Something I did notice, though, si that when the driver does "shift" the lever, the camera switches to the dash and a message reading "regen" pops up. Perhaps its a regenerative braking mode.

If it's like the Tesla, Volt, and most go fast electric R/C's out now, they're some sort of single speed multi gear trans. The reason that's possible is that electric motors make their full torque as soon as the electrics are powered up, doesn't even need to spin to do so
