Mike Kucaba Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 Fujimi makes some beautiful Porsche kits of the Carrera 4 I have one and saw two others. These are curbsides, Has anyone of you kit bashed them into full detail? Thanks
Quick GMC Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 (edited) Edit: misread original post. Are there any engines from the enthusiast kits that would work? Edited August 23, 2014 by Quick GMC
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 What year Carrera 4 are we talking about? '89-'94 could conceivably be bashed from the older 911 kits.
Mike Kucaba Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 Cameron: perhaps, I shake when considering parting out a E series kit Bill: I don't know, but they are older made models. In the instructions I have they talk about the '90's, a 3.6 flat 6 and a full time 4 wheel drive. I don't have the know that some of you have about Porsche.
Modelmartin Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 The enthusiast kits could be a good starting point for an engine and unibody but I mean that it is JUST a starting point. You have to add the all wheel drive, the fuel injection, there are tons of details that are really different and would need to be scratchbuilt. My advice is to build the curbside!
Mike Kucaba Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 Actually that is probably the way I'll go on at least one of them. For a curbside, they are pretty good.
Kennyboy Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 You could do the engine/trans from a Revell 911 Turbo on the cheap but the all wheel drive is another story. (I would probably use the drivetrain from a Skyline kit for that!)
