Greg Myers Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 First thing you did , back in the day when ya got yer new ride was lose those big chunky stock wheel covers, paint the wheels black and snap on some Baby Moons. Baby Moons not full Moon Disks. smooth clean, no manufactures names or logos. They fit the three nub type wheels.
Greg Myers Posted September 2, 2014 Author Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) There were other types, but none were as popular. Full wheel baby moon wheel cover. There was also a smaller cap that fit inside the inner wheel ring and they all looked good on chromies. Edited September 2, 2014 by Greg Myers

Ramfins59 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Yep, Baby Moon caps were the way to go to dress up your ride.
Harry P. Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Baby moons are a "little known" car fact? What next? A vinyl top exposé?
Joe Handley Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Baby moons are a "little known" car fact? What next? A vinyl top exposé? Could be a vinyl top-less expose on the Plymouth Superbird
unclescott58 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) Baby moons are a "little known" car fact? What next? A vinyl top exposé? Hey Harry, I think there are a lot of people out, especially younger folk, who may not know what's being talked about when these terms come up. Heck, there are some of us older folk who maybe a little mixed up on exactly what is a "Moon disc" or "exhaust cut outs"? I like these "Little Know Car Facts" postings. I don't know if I've learned anything new personally. But, if it keeps going, I'm sure I will. Maybe calling them "Little Know" is the wrong title. Maybe "Clarification of Terms" or sometime else would be more correct. Scott Edited September 2, 2014 by unclescott58

1930fordpickup Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 In the mid eighties I had a 78 Cutlass that became rattle can flat black then I switched from ralley wheels to steel rims and baby moon caps.Yes I agree that sooner or later we will all learn something from these posts.
Tom Geiger Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Always loved Baby Moons! Here's a set that actually came in this kit about 26 years ago. First full detail model I finished as an adult! Full covers out of the Deora kit. Full moons... these were in the old Monogram Green Hornet '32 Ford
southpier Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 I wanted to add "don't mind the curmudgeon" but that would be the pot ....
