GasPunkAlley Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Hello boys and girls, I continue to dog out stuff from about 17 years of storage and I found this unique blast from the past, a custom clear and chrome room from the early '60's. It is Originals by Monte' and design to fit a Ford or Mercedes from that same era. I did a Google search and can only find that Monte made monster decals in the fifties and early sixties before he left the scene. Has anyone else heard of or seen these parts before? I am interested to see if he made a thing else! I have attached a front and back view of the blister card. I found the piece at an old hobby shop found in the basement of a building in downtown Masillon, Ohio. Larry was the owner and the shop is now long gone. I think I got the piece some 20 to 22 years ago.
randx0 Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 there were several custom roofs (rooves?) and a car show display . I have seen most of the roofs infrequently but the display only once . I think they also did custom interior kit with some vinyl or corduroy wires for piping and a decal .
GasPunkAlley Posted September 5, 2014 Author Posted September 5, 2014 Thanks for posting these pics Randy. On the back of the package it mentioned the display parts. Wonder what ever happened to the molds...
