kpnuts Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Hi all just a quickie as a break. I am doing the Beatnik Bandit (Not the correct colours) I never build as it's supposed to be, unless it's a definitive article. Nope don't build the way it's supposed to be, 2 reasons for that.1: Hides my bad modeling skills(cant say its wrong if its being deliberately done wrong from the start)2: I like being different. So Here's my start.I want the engine to look like it's been around a while, not like it's just come out of the custom shop.
High octane Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Lookin' good Ken. I just found an early issue (1994) of the Beatnik Bandit in my "stash."
kpnuts Posted September 13, 2014 Author Posted September 13, 2014 Well I dont think the new version can be any better than your older one.you need 8 arms and 16 pairs of hands The rear suspension is a real pig Here is todays offering Think I may do away with the fender decals, as it seems no amout of Micro sol or Micro set will take the wrinkles out of them. did some more dirtying of the engine
DonW Posted September 13, 2014 Posted September 13, 2014 I love this car, and the colour. As you'll most likely know, Hot wheels did a metallic purple one which is the colour I always thought the Bandit should be.
kpnuts Posted September 13, 2014 Author Posted September 13, 2014 Nope didn't know that, that's an interesting fact never heard of it other than the Revell model. As you say never liked the colour though.
kpnuts Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 Hi all here is where I am at now. wont be finished today as we have family all day so I just sneaked a quick go this morning, only got the light lenses front and rear then the dome to go on and the HT leads, a little touching up where I have not been too neat with my brush painting, so should finish tomorrow.
DonW Posted September 14, 2014 Posted September 14, 2014 There you are: They did other colours too I just discovered. Nope didn't know that, that's an interesting fact never heard of it other than the Revell model. As you say never liked the colour though.
kpnuts Posted September 14, 2014 Author Posted September 14, 2014 That's gorgeous colour did mine the wrong colour now I've seen that.
kpnuts Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Hi all well it's finished (I was going to put HT leads on it but got fed up with them keep falling off so they can stay off) the rear lights are supposed to have little bullets in them but I like the look without them so left them off. the top is supposed to be a complete dome but I thought that wasnt very practible so I made it a convertible
mnwildpunk Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Like the color and like what u did with the dome
DonW Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Your colour choice looks great. It's not strictly a convertible as it's got no top at all now, so it's a roadster. I did like the bubble, but it's great to see your more practical solution
Jantrix Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 There you are: Beatnik Bandit.jpgThey did other colours too I just discovered. Thanks for posting this. I have a BB, sans wheels/tires. I now know what to use.
