Mike Chernecki Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Does anyone know of a good online source for Aoshima wheels. I tried a few online vendors to find Out of stock on nearly everything. Found one that showed stock, after I placed an order I receive an email a few days later saying out of stock. Are they that hard to find?
Devilsnake98 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I've never really bought any sets, but if you look up "aoshima wheels" or "aoshima tires" on ebay, there's quite a bit to choose from, and I'd have to assume they're in stock being listed on ebay.
Mike Chernecki Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 Did that, never the sets your looking for. Usually just the ones nobody really wants.
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 They are that hard to find. They only produce limited runs of about 4 sets at a time. Usually release quarterly. Hobby Link Japan is probably the best source and you can usually pre-order new sets before the release date. Early birds get the worm here. Which particular set or sets are you looking for? My LHS has some in their inventory. I might be able to help you out.
Don Sikora II Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 I've bought a couple Aoshima wheel and tire sets off of amazon.com. Some are eligible for free Prime shipping too. Not that many to choose from, but you might find something you want.
Mike Chernecki Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 i was looking for the exact same wheel used on this 2013 Mustang build http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=93352&page=2 I can find the all chrome version, but not the black and chrome version.
o-man Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 i was looking for the exact same wheel used on this 2013 Mustang build http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=93352&page=2 I can find the all chrome version, but not the black and chrome version. Paint the centers black?
Mike Chernecki Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 Bought the chrome version, I wanted to avoid painting the rims if I didn't have to. Oh well.
o-man Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 At least the lips are separate so it makes it easier to paint the spokes
The Creative Explorer Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Bought the chrome version, I wanted to avoid painting the rims if I didn't have to. Oh well. I believe they are always chromed, it is up to the buyer to paint them that way you want.
fumi Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Hobby Search: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/list/1832/0/1HLJ: http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljlist?rel=nav&GenreCode=Aut&MacroType=TirWhe&Scale=24These sets go out of stock very soon, if you want the really popular sets you will need to pre-order them.
Tonioseven Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Keep an ebay search saved for "Aoshima wheels" and you'll get alerts regularly as soon as they're posted,
