jbwelda Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 is that del rio wagon going to be a new tool? what the heck is a del rio wagon anyhow? some goofy quasi "western" motif trim package? jb
High octane Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Very nice, as I've said a few years ago that the wagon and an Ranchero would follow Revell's '57 Ford Custom. It'll be the only one of the bunch that I'll buy, and I'm still bettin' on a Ranchero in the future as well.
towtruck Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 '57 Ford del rio station wagon..thank you R.M...
thatz4u Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 gotta get 2 of the wagons, & make one a sedan delivery
ChrisBcritter Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 Oh wow on that wagon - looking forward to seeing the Country Squire/Country Sedan/Courier/Edsel Roundup conversions folks will be building. The one option I'd like to see added: a rack full of surfboards!
Snake45 Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 That '57 Del Rio wagon looks very interesting. But now I'm thinking of kitbashing it on an AMT '56, even if the resultant model would be a "phantom"....
unclescott58 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 All right! A '57 Del Rio Ranch Wagon! Can a '57 Ranchero be far behind? I love '57 Fords. Keep them coming Revell. And I'll keep on buying. Scott
mike 51 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Those sedan bumper guards are gonna punch some nasty dents in the tailgates.....the rest of the 57 looks great!
Aaronw Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 The '57 wagon is neat. Personally I think the Nomad is a bit more attractive but it will nice to have another 50s wagon, even better that it looks like it will include a police option.
horsepower Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I'd look for the police version to be possibly a Model King release, just as the sedan was done.
niteowl7710 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 On a casual once over, all I see is the issue mentioned earlier. The test shot has the earlier kit's rear bumper guards. That's gonna make opening the tailgate part if the hatch rather inefficient...
Rob Hall Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Some kit came with the Edsel station wagon taillights and bezels as a customizing option. I just can not, off the top of my head, remember which kit it was. I don't think it was AMT's '57 Ford? I know I have a set somewhere in my collection. Scott Yes, some of the older issues of the AMT '57 Fairlane had custom taillights similar to the '58 Edsel wagon parts. IIRC, the AMT '57 was a possible reissue this or last year but didn't happen..
1972coronet Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I , too , am quite looking forward to the 1957 Ford Wagon and its hopeful Ranchero . Truthishly , a 1958-1959 Ford Fairlane , wagon , and-or Ranchero would be my favourite ...
Tonioseven Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I would like to build a couple of those wagons.
Drake69 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 '57 Del Rio + Tamiya Black Gloss + Skull decals = WIN. Want that BADLY.
mrknowetall Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 '57 Del Rio + Tamiya Black Gloss + Skull decals = WIN. Want that BADLY. Me too! Gotta have it! Now! The plan is to build the chassis from the '57 sedan with the engine of my choice (FORD, of course). I expect the floorpan to be different (aside from the body), but not much else. I can get a head start on this now. I can't wait!
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 That Del Rio wagon is much cooler than the previous Ford sedan kit! Never even bought one of those. Just didn't interest me. But this wagon I will definitely buy!! Steve
250 Testa Rossa Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Don't get me wrong, but the '57 Ford Ranch Wagon looks really really nice.
unclescott58 Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Don't get me wrong, but the '57 Ford Ranch Wagon looks really really nice. Why would we get you wrong? Reading this thread, a lot of us agree with you. Scott
Art Anderson Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Don't get me wrong, but the '57 Ford Ranch Wagon looks really really nice. Except that it's the upscale-trimmed Del Rio. Art
khier Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 The best thing it will be agreat doner for Jimmy Flintstone's Country Sedan and Country Squire bodies, and certainly the 1959 Country sedan.
sfhess Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Parts for a dual-carb supercharger setup similar to the pictures above can be found in the AMT 63-64 Mercury kits.
