Very Very neat! excellent job scratch building this junior! By no means do I mean to hijack your post, but I used to race a junior just two years ago, they're a great learning experience and great for learning to race before stepping up to a big car!

I'm surprised to see a Junior Dragster scale model the first time ever. I think it's surprising that more people haven't tried to make one as Junior Drag Racing is really popular (At least here in Finland). Well, honestly I have been thinking of making a Jr Dragster sometime, but never got around building one actually.

This is a very cool build. Great job scratchbuilding the components and good work getting everything together. Nice work overall.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of times does a Jr. Dragster do, in the 1/4 mile.

Randy,

Wicked Pissa!

I was the track photographer at two different drag strips in the 1990's and both tracks had Jr. Dragster-only events. Those were my favorite events. Not the most exciting, but the most fun and enjoyable. Everyone was there to have a good time. I loved Jr. Dragster. Thanks for building this.

My car was a very heavy mild steel car and it would only run 8.30's at about 83. At my home track many 7.90 cars would get close to 90 in the 1/8th

Sorry for really hijacking the thread, Randy. The least I should have done, was commented on you great scratch building or commended you for tackling a subject, I've never seen, in scale.

Thanks for the answers about ETs & speed. 7.90s @ 85 is pretty stout for kids & teenagers. Throw a shift in there & leg it out to the 1/4, they'd be in the 12s. I'd say those little motors are putting out a bit more than 5HP.
