LDO Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I'm imagining an old Jaguar inline-6 in a street rod without a hood. Get the classic look of side draft Webers but have a fuel rail and injectors under the manifold(s).
Snake45 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) I think stuff like that has been done. I know old Hilborn injectors have been rebuilt with modern guts, and I think Weber carbs, too. Anything is possible if you throw enough money at it. Edited November 17, 2014 by Snake45
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 (edited) Side-draft Webers would have to be entirely re-engineered internally to function as EFI in the real world...a task that would take serious expertise and buckets of money. HOWEVER, Weber-LOOK EFI systems are readily available from companies like Inglese. You'll notice these throttle-bodies look much like side-draft Webers, and they have the same footprint to bolt to Weber manifolds. I recently set up these down-draft Weber-look injectors, made by Imagine, on a 354 Chrysler Hemi. [/uR This is a triple Weber-look side-draft setup for a Datsun 240Z. Crazy Ed Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Summit, Professional Products and Autoworks International all make EFI's that look like 4bbl's that hide the Injectors under covers that look like Float Bowls. And it wouldn't surprise me to learn there are more.
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Here's a side-draft Weber-look EFI setup on a Chevy six. Pretty much what you'd get for the inline Jag.
