Finally! I now have a winner. I still had some "issues", but I eventually prevailed, and it's about time. I'll cover the majority of this with saran wrap prior to adding the BMF. I'll let it dry for a day or so first though.

Awesome job.  Glad you stuck with it until you got the results you wanted.

Question.   What's the saran wrap for?   I'm not familiar with that technique.

Thanks a bunch, I'm quite happy myself. The saran wrap will just be to protect the black on the hood from scratches and dings while I add the BMF.

All three bumpers now spritzed with Alclad chrome again. One of the front bumpers is a tad better than the other, so I'll use the less nice one on this model.

Hood now given the BMF treatment. I’m pretty happy with this, especially given my general unfamiliarity with the stuff. Still not quite as nice as I had hoped, but acceptable at least. Thoughts, comments?

I still wasn't real happy with the hood, so I mixed up a batch of semi-gloss Testors Dullcote/Glosscote and dusted it on. I like this much better now, and won't mess with it anymore.

Nice job with the hood !!! ??

Thanks. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but I' happy enough to call it done.

The Hood blackout finish looks great. The chrome window moldings are cleanly done.

Thanks very much. My first foiling attempt in quite a while, and I'd like to think what I learned (what to do, what not to do), will come in very handy on some soon to follow projects.
