ratnasty Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I have always wanted to build this car so I modified a MPC Nitro Vette and made a set of decals to fit the body
garcen Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Ok Chuck, Can you send me a set? I would love to build this one as well as the Muldowney satellite you did a while back. garcen07@hotmail.com
Petetrucker07 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Great idea. It's fitting now that John Force is back with Chevy.
dragcarz Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Say Chuck are you going to be selling these decals?
Fortheloveofgassers Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 That is an awesome start to a very cool project. I had no idea Force ever raced a Vette.
vette1955 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Awesome idea. Can't wait to see the progress.

jayrock7597 Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 I haven't been on here in awhile, I'm very sorry to hear this. Thank you for the info.
Dragline Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 I happen to have gotten Chuck's last set of decals he ever made. He made doubles with a slightly different color to choose from and sent them both. He was a great guy and is missed.
Rick Wolfe Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 is this the same Chuck that sold 1/16 scale decals also ? Stang1forever I think. Thanks.

Force Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 (edited) John Force has raced a lots of different Funny Cars over the years, I have been to the JFR Headquarters in Yorba Linda, CA several times (most recent was back in October 2018 and I have also met the man himself a couple of times) and many of his old cars are on display in the museum. The first Funny Car he ever raced (or should I say tried to race) was a rear engined 71-73 Ford Mustang, in 1975 he had a Chevy Vega, 1976-77 he used Chevy Monza bodys, 1978-80 Chevy Corvette, 1980-82 Chevy Citation, 1983-84 Chevy Camaro, 1985 Chevy Corvette, 1986 Chevy Cavalier, 1987 Old Firenza, 1988-93 Olds Cutlass, 1994 Chevy Lumina, 1995-97 Pontiac Firebird, 1997-2014 Ford Mustang and 2015-Present Chevy Camaro. He also had a short stint in a Fuel Altered back in the early 70's Edited April 18, 2019 by Force

Force Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 (edited) Yes I do. This is going to be a picture rich post but I hope you don't mind, all pictures are gathered on the web over the years and all credits goes to the original photographers 1973-74 The rear engined 71-73 Mustang John ran with his brother Louie, I think this was a former Jack Chrisman car. 1975 Chevy Vega FC 7726 1976 Chevy Monza FC 7726 1977 Chevy Monza FC 7726 1978 Chevy Corvette FC 723 1979 Chevy Corvette FC 8 Early 1980 Chevy Corvette FC 8 Late 1980 Chevy Citation FC 8 1981 Chevy Citation FC 723 1982 Chevy Citation FC 723 1983 Chevy Camaro FC 723 1984 Chevy Camaro FC 4 1985 Chevy Corvette FC 723 Early 1986 Chevy Corvette FC 5 Late 1986 Chevy Cavalier FC 5 1987 Olds Firenza FC 4 1988 Olds Cutlass FC 4 1989 Olds Cutlass FC 3 1990 Olds Cutlass FC 6 1991 Olds Cutlass FC 1 1992 Olds Cutlass FC 1 1993 Olds Cutlass FC 2 1994 Chevy Lumina FC 1 1995 Pontiac Firebird FC 1 1996 Pontiac Firebird FC 1 Early 1997 Pontiac Firebird FC 1 Late 1997 Ford Mustang FC 1 1998 Ford Mustang FC 1 1999 Ford Mustang FC 1 2000 Ford Mustang FC 1 2001 Ford Mustang FC 1 2002 Ford Mustang FC 1 2003 Ford Mustang FC 1 2004 Ford Mustang FC 3 2005 Ford Mustang FC 1 2006 Ford Mustang FC 3 2007 Ford Mustang FC 1, after Eric Medlens passing after the test crash in Gainesille FL John used FC 4 as a tribute to him, John himself crashed in Dallas TX and got injured and couldn't finish the year. 2008 Ford Mustang FC 7 2009 Ford Mustang FC 7 2010 Ford Mustang FC 9 2011 Ford Mustang FC 1 2012 Ford Mustang FC 9 2013 Ford mustang FC 9 2014 Ford Mustang FC 1 2015 Chevrolet Camaro FC 2 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS FC 7 2017 Chevrolet Camaro SS FC 4 2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS FC 7 2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS FC One thing you might notice is that the Funny Car bodies looked a lot more like the cars they were supposed to be up to 1999, after that NHRA lightened and changed the rules and we got the ugly wedge shaped bodies with a bump on top for the driver we have now.
