br67 Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 Rex that Danbury engine looks pretty impressive
unclescott58 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Nope! It uses the little flanged pegs that go through the wheelbacks. You beat my to it, Monty. Scott
vamach1 Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Do you all agree this is a 4v 351C? From looking at it closely I am certain it is. Since I only have one of this particular engine, would anyone out there be interested in casting some copies? I would provide the block/heads/water pump tranny as shown in one piece and the two stock valve covers and oil pan. All the other pieces (starter, pulley, fan blade, oil filter, exhaust manifolds, distributor, carb, air cleaner. alternator, etc. could be sourced from many other Ford kits. Any takers?
Force Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 (edited) Well all 335 family engines 351C, 351M and 400, has basically the same outside appearence so it's hard to tell one version from another, of course a 2V and 4V can be picked out but otherwise they looks basically the same. But to tell a 335 family from a Windsor family engine is easier as all 335 family engines has the whater outlet/thermostate housing at the front end of the engine block itself just in front of the intake manifold pointing straight up, and the Windsor family has the outlet/thermostate housing going out from the front of the intake manifold pointing forward slightly angled up. Monty Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 I wonder what engines AMT, MPC & Revellogram put into their respective post-'77 Broncos. Wiki claims the 351M & 351W were options along the way. If memory serves a 351M should be close in appearance to a 351C.
MeatMan Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Scott at Futurattractions has a 351C. Its a racing version with a Lenco though. Lenco is not attached to the engine. Good luck.
vamach1 Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Way cool. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Icon-Models-1-8-Scale-1970-Ford-Cleveland-351-Engine-/191509851346?pt=AU_Toys_Hobbies_Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item2c96e06cd2
futurattraction Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) I sell a 351C pro stock engine on my website but have the parts to do a Boss 351 style of engine without too much more effort. I've already got the modified stock heads (same detail as the pro stock heads, single 4V intake and finned valve covers. I modified the Boss 302 engine from the AMT Cougar kit, added the extended timing chain housing on the front of the block, reshaped the intake to match a Cleveland style intake, added casting detail on the cylinder heads, etc. It comes with a MAD pre-wired distributor. Here is a link to the engine/trans page on my website, if you're interested. The only thing I didn't do on my engine isn't I didn't raise the deck height to the scale 9.2". Otherwise, I think it's the closest to being an accurate replicate, in 1/25th scale, that is available. I have owned several 351C engines over the years and wanted to capture as much of their unique appearance as possible... http://www.futurattraction.com/8.html Scott Edited February 16, 2015 by futurattraction
vamach1 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Another option from the land down under. http://www.ebay.com/itm/181691207591?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Monty Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Anybody know which kit/engine these resin repops are based on? AFAICT, most or all were available before Revell's '70 Mach 1 kit was released.
vamach1 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 My guess is they are based upon a mid 70's Ford truck but that is just a guess.
