Impressive!

Who released the model kit? I would also like to hear more about Your perfect way to remove the chromed faces ot the headlights.

Ludwig

Ludwig, this kit was issued by AMT in the mid-1970s. IIRC, they issued two annual updates after the initial version ('75). The updates were fairly easy to do since the changes were comprised mostly of slight modifications to the styling of their respective grilles.

Some of AMT's kits back then were kind of crude and occasionally required better than average skill to make them turn out nicely, which is why I'd say anyone who can take a mediocre kit like this and make it turn out as well as it did deserves our accolades, and Yuri never disappoints.

Another beauty, Yuri. Somehow you manage to improve each one to make it better than the last perfect model. Amazing!

Incredible work Yuri, it looks like one I drove in HIgh School, just without the beige interior! You made a really bad kit look simply perfect, bravo!

Thank you for showing how you did the headlights, but i want to know how you made the kit tail light look so much like the real thing, the kit parts aren't anywhere near that good on the two kits I have!

Hey Yuri

Another beauty I see

Very nice indeed Sir

I was wondering about your photography,..which is stunning!

What settings do you use to get the whole car in focus?

The front to back shots (3/4 views) are awesome!

Again Well Done

Cheers

You must have gotten a good set, both of my kits have sinkholes in the center of three of the four tail lights...I was hoping you had a magical fix using something other than the kit parts!

It is the most beautiful i have ever seen, even compared to 1:1 ones as well.

Awesome build, Yuri. I lived not too far from where they built those cars. They were made in a small city called Kenosha. Contrary to what others have said, I thought the Matadors were the best looking cars of that era. I had a four door version which had a completely different kind of body.

The wheels Yuri used are in the AMT kit and are meant to depict one of the factory wheel options. For some reason, AMT created them with more offset than the 1:1 wheels, although they do look nice on Yuri's model.
