chunkypeanutbutter Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 So he didn't find it in Auto Trader.
Guest Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 He said he may drive it to some location and stand on the hood? He doesn't deserve it.
Lownslow Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 He said he may drive it to some location and stand on the hood? He doesn't deserve it. hes joking

gtx6970 Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 He said he may drive it to some location and stand on the hood? Ummmm,,doubt it
w451973 Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Just in case anyone cares, there will be a Joe Dirt 2 movie.
Chuck Most Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 That is what the article claims he said. You do know that anything David Spade says in an interview is rarely (if ever) meant to be taken seriously, right?
Guest Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 You do know that anything David Spade says in an interview is rarely (if ever) meant to be taken seriously, right? I don't know anything about him.
wrecker388 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Haha. They so need to use that in the new movie. They could say he rebuilt that "pile" (as I recall him calling it) from the first movie.
Mr mopar Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Awesome car................... Movie was good for a laugh!
1972coronet Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 (edited) I remember reading about that specific Daytona back in the early 90's in Mopar Action ! The story goes that the car was modified from new with numerous then-popular upgrades ( M/T rocker covers , L-88 type hood scoop , etc. ) and wore a psychedellic paint job . After seeing how the car looked as a customised version , I really wish that it was left that way ; it was sweet !! Otis Chandler had this car as part of his collection back in the day . CorvairJim Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) I did a little Google Images digging and found this "Before" shot of the "JOE DIRT" car. Frankly, I like the one Spade just bought a lot better, but this shot might be an inspiration for someone to build a companion for their Joe Dirt model... : Edited February 5, 2015 by CorvairJim
Chuck Most Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I don't know anything about him. Well... know this- the things he says in interviews are rarely (if ever) meant to be taken seriously.
Ju Ju Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 He said he may drive it to some location and stand on the hood? He doesn't deserve it. So what if he wants to stand on the hood , he only weighs about 35 pounds .
topher5150 Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 So he didn't find it in Auto Trader. Remember he had it in the shop getting a hippy gas pedal put in.
Maindrian Pace Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I've met him. Real cool guy. Good for him. -MJS
w451973 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I met Britney Danails. She is real nice and alot hotter in person.
1972coronet Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I did a little Google Images digging and found this "Before" shot of the [ as-found , pre-restoration ] car. Frankly, I like the [ restored version] a lot better [.] The biggest , glaring "mistake" that I can see with the customised version is that the seal between the nose and the fenders was left unpainted ! Huge distraction ; negative space of a verticle black line ! Disrupts the ebb & flow of the psychedellic paint job . Any-one care to photoshop (or what-ever programme's around these days) the image and eliminate that verticle black line ?

gtx6970 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 psychedellic_1969daytona.jpg The biggest , glaring "mistake" that I can see with the customised version is that the seal between the nose and the fenders was left unpainted ! Any-one care to photoshop (or what-ever programme's around these days) the image and eliminate that verticle black line ? Thats the rubber seal between the fender and the nose..only way to fix it is weld or lead it up. Even then chances of someone doing that to a real Hemi Dayyona is unlikely. These cars were already back on the uprise in values by the late 70s. . For the most part these cars became almost instant collectibles in no time.
