farmallgray Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 With the upcoming reissue of the Mack DM600 I was wondering if it would be fairly easy to convert one to a centered cab like an R model. Or are there other major differences besides the offset of the cab?

Madd Trucker Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 you would be better off getting the R series kit
GLMFAA1 Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Has anyone taken the metal hood and radiator from the MPC DM and matched it to the AMT R Mack? greg
Bennyg Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 You could stick a replacement cab in the chassis from AITM. Ben
Superpeterbilt Posted February 14, 2015 Posted February 14, 2015 Has anyone taken the metal hood and radiator from the MPC DM and matched it to the AMT R Mack? greg I did this years ago to build a RD600. The hood will have to be sectioned at the cowl as it is wider than the R hood. The ends of the fenders at the cab will have to be scratch built. I plan on making a RD 800 cab conversion(just the cab) if the DM 800 gets reissued, because I just dont like the offset cab. Aitm offers the whole conversion, but thats too costly to buy to build multiple kits. Im sitting on a bunch of DMs that I want to convert to RDs.
scale trucker Posted February 15, 2015 Posted February 15, 2015 gw trucks offers a rd hood conversion and other odd mack parts
