Alfalfa Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) Hello Guys. I'm the new guy from Ingolstadt/Bavaria-Germany, and i like to show you what i do when i relax with my wonderfull hobby. I build Modell cars! Big modell cars.....VERY BIG modell cars ;-) I do this since 1 1/2 years with passion. My first ready modell was the Pocher Lamborghini Aventador in nice Isis White. I dont built out of the box, my modells need the little pep, or how can i say it in english? Pimp? And so i use transkits, many scratch making things, bare metall foile and colors. Now enought bla bla, here the Pictures: Sorry, i need to find my way in this great, new Forum. For the first time i post here something, it will be not perfect.....like my english ;-) Short: Tires from Model Motor Cars, an etched Transkit for the engine and the brakediscs from the german manufacturer, TREMONIA, the drivers compartment and seats i've painted in blue, also the Dashboard. Many Sheets of Carbon was needed and installed. I hoppe you enjoy my first pics in this Forum. Edited February 18, 2015 by Alfalfa

gtx6970 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I thought it was the real thing when I looked at it . I can only imagine the time it takes to build something like this
topher5150 Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 well you got to shop at Aldi now to afford that thing
Alfalfa Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 This german Aldi bag is my special kind of humor.... I could not resist me. I cant tell how many hours i need for this. It was about 4 moths and i work every day on it.
Helix Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Very Impressive Alex, every time I see one of these it reminds me of a Storm Trooper from Star Wars !
dublin boy Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 So this is where Harry gets his 'real or model' pictures from. LOL I didn't realise Pocher were making modern car kits. Great work Alex, I love the Aldi shopping bag
10thumbs Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Alex, so what's in the Aldi bag? Maybe some bratwurst? Fantastic looking super sports car, very clean and excellent job. Michael
TFchronos Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 A very nice build of a killer looking car.
Renegade Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Great job. The photos make the car look like the full size version. Hope to see more of your builds.
Twokidsnosleep Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) Looks very good. The interior is stunning What do you think of old Pocher model kits vs the newer versions? Are the Lambo's the same build quality as the old Alfa's, Rolls and Mercedes?? Edited February 19, 2015 by Twokidsnosleep
Alfalfa Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 First thank you all very much for your lovley comments..... I think the newer Pocher (Hornby Spain, not Italy) are a good Basic to tickle some awesome cars out of the kits, like the old Pocher kits. The newer kits have Maximum 860 parts, the older 1600-2100.....comparson is a Little bit dificult. The old have some great wiered wheels, mechanical components....my own opinion is they play not in the same league.Think about it that the old Pocher was 40 years old and that are all classics from the classics. I prefer the old kits and i have many from the old Im not saying that the new ones are bad. I only like classic cars more. The sadly truth is that in 1:8 are not many kits outside the world. And so i look to get what i can get. My biggest wish: a Ferrari 250GTO or 250 California in 1:8.....Oh my God. And for my American friends a surprise now. The Lambo get license plattes.....
Twokidsnosleep Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 A good evaluation and your logic makes sense to me I just bought a Pocher Testarossa a few minutes ago...wife is going to kill me
Alfalfa Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 So looks my Display corner for my half ready Pochers..... The F40 is a restore Project in future. The Lambo finished, the Alfa Monza my second project in addition to my Bugatti (I build ever 2 or 3 kits in the same time, to fight some boring), My Long term project: The Famous, Incredible, Wonderfull, Pricless 1937' Mercedes Benz 540K Spezial Roadster total renovation from head to toe. I scratch the REAL 540K Spezial Roadster. Not the Pocher wannabe But it need a loooong time before this car is finish. And the Bugatti is acctualy here in the Workbench forum In Germany new started: The Mercedes Benz 300SL Gullwing. No matter that i buy this abo series. Also i get the Altaya 1967er Shelby GT500 as abo from France. A good friend of mine bring me the collection from France. Best regards from Germany, Alex
Alfalfa Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 Hey Scott, take it easy. Youd'like to know how many nights i sleept on my Couch because my Pochers...... ;-)
Twokidsnosleep Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) Wow, what a collection! I like your display case there Alex and lovely models inside the glass You are way ahead of me in the Pocher collection, but we have similar taste in autos I have a few 1/16 and 1/12 kits waiting to be built Once I started the larger scales, I got addicted ! Ha, ha at least my wife knows where I am and what I am doing! Edited February 19, 2015 by Twokidsnosleep
Alfalfa Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 You so right, Scott. Now im really obsessioned from the big scale babes! Its simply a wonderfull Hobby we got. And about our wives, you are again right. I see, all People over the world have the same "Problems".... in my Basement wait two Testarossi for me....and a Mercedes Benz 500K Cabriolett, and...and ...oh my god. I Need a Doctor.... ;-)
ZTony8 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Scott-If the Pocher Testarossa is anything like the Testor/Pocher version I fear you'll not be enamored of it.I have the Testor version and it was the most disappointing kit I ever had. When I read on the first page of the instruction booklet that there were "design economies" taken with the kit I knew I was in for trouble.Mismatched shades of paint on the body pieces and suspension screw mounts that stripped with the slightest force on the screws were just two of the joys I encountered.I wish you better luck.
Twokidsnosleep Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 (edited) Thanks Tony for the heads up It is a partially built kit and I plan on doing a fully tear down and paint strip I knew this era of kits are supposedly not as well designed as the older Poachers, have heard that about the Porsche too I want, but I guess I will have to see for myself There is aftermarket stuff available so we shall see what I can get out of it. This kit comes with an engine transkit already If I could have, would have gotten the F 40, but am building a Fujimi 1/16 F40 already and Pocher F 40 and Carreras are very rare I am running out of Pocher models to collect that I like...they didn't produce that many different cars Guess I better start building some!
