665@213 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Hey everybody! I've been fooling around with this Falcon for a while now, and I finally got it finished up. It's got a 4.6 3 valve from an '05 Mustang GT, new suspension, & new wheels. Stock interior that's been flocked. All comments welcome!!
Sixties Sam Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Nice! The red really pops! I'm not a fan of the giant wheels, but with the low stance, they look good! Sam
Miatatom Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Nice one! Looks like the one I had a little.
Renegade Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Not a fan of lowriders but this could make me change my mind. A very cool build.
Yenkocamaro Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Looking good, great stance. What scale is this? Cheers, Lance
665@213 Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Thanks everybody! It's a 1:18th scale diecast. The wheels are from a Dub City 1:24th scale diecast.
Junkman Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Looks ace. Can you please elaborate on the modifications that were necessary to accomodate those wheels and the engine?
665@213 Posted February 28, 2015 Author Posted February 28, 2015 (edited) Sure thing Christian! I cut the frame up on the Dub City car, both front & rear. I cut the ends where the brake rotors attach & where the metal axles come through to attach the wheels, and glued them to the Falcon chassis. The Falcon engine bay was not used, I made inner fenders & a radiator support from styrene. The engine is from an Auto Art Mustang GT. The engine is molded in 2 halves & splits in the middle. I cut a piece of styrene wide enough to sit between the inner fenders & glued the engine to that piece of styrene. I made a cold air intake from styrene & a resin cast filter. It still rolls just like it did, but the front wheels aren't steerable anymore. It looks like a complete engine when you open the hood. Hope this helps. Edited February 28, 2015 by 665@213
